About Me

Dr Linda Edwards

Behavioural psychologist, coach and organisational leader.

After over 30 years of leading organisations and coaching organisational leaders I now spend my time working with leaders and their teams to enable organisations and people to thrive.

I am a behavioural psychologist with over 30 years’ experience of working in both leadership and clinical roles. I draw on my experience of working in senior roles – Chairman, CEO and Non-Executive Director – in the NHS and charitable sectors. This combination of skills and experience enables me to support organisational leaders in developing the skills they need to be authentic, successful leaders.

I had the privilege of working with leaders from diverse cultures around the world.

During the years of research for my Ph.D. I had the privilege of working with leaders from diverse cultures around the world. The most impactful were the times I spent with indigenous leaders, principally across North and South America. They taught me the value of authenticity and importance of leading with compassion and understanding while never stepping away from the tough decisions. I will be forever indebted to them.

My experience gives me a breadth of understanding of how to excel.

My experience across the health, charitable and corporate sectors gives me a breadth of understanding of how to excel even when times are tough. I am committed to working in partnership with you to create the very best environment for you, your team and your beneficiaries.

I can support you in tapping into your own innate abilities to create success.

By working together, I can support you in tapping into your own innate abilities to create personal and organisational success. Sessions are relaxed, informed and open, enabling me to support you in achieving your objectives.

I have learnt to embrace authenticity in everything I do.

The support programmes I offer are founded on my experience of the ups and downs of organisational and personal leadership. I have also had the privilege of spending over a decade living with indigenous cultures around the world learning about their leadership styles and how they achieve balance throughout their communities. This has enabled me to embrace authenticity in everything I do. I also work as a Senior Associate for the NHS Confederation, supporting and delivering their leadership programmes

The Barefoot Executive

The Barefoot Executive was born from an understanding that flexibility is key to organisational success; developing the skills to lead and manage different people in different circumstances, making tough decisions fairly, and respecting the people we work with is crucial to personal and organisational success. I am also passionate about helping people to stay connected with who they truly are.

My book ‘The Barefoot Executive: Leadership Skills for the 21st Century’ is allegorical, based on a real example of an organisational change programme.
